Progressive Web Application (PWA) for Event Management
Antoine and Eve just came back from Twickenham, London where they trained the staff to use the application, and provided assistance during the two days.
This B2B event connects retailers and suppliers to discuss e-logistics, brings them together in order to have meaningful discussions during 1:1 meetings.
One of the most important features is the 1:1 meetings module : attendees have personalized agendas, get requests, confirm or decline meetings. They can also chat, make a call or send text messages to stay in touch.
We also developed a sophisticated registration module, which manages not only user registration (for different attendee types), but also their venue, including travel and hotel reservation. For each attendee form, the staff has also a staff view and can manage their registration status (waiting list, confirmed, canceled etc.), their agenda...
Theses features helped almost 800 attendees to register before the event, to get in touch and planify their arrival and their 1:1 agenda.
During the two-day event, the staff was able to do the check-in and out of the event and workshops via the PWA with the QR-Code. Retailers were also able to vote for the awards through the application. Obviously in this application, for the D-day, there were also classic features such as a chat, a Twitter thread, a map of the site to find your way etc.
About 50 staff members were each in charge of 4 suppliers to help them find their meetings partner around the event. Throughout the event Antoine & Eve were teaching the staff members how to use the application including a really powerful feature that allowed them to track and find retailers all around the event.
We had a lot of wonderful feedbacks during the event and this gave us a lot of ideas to improve the app with our client Deliver for the next edition!
We will give more technical details about how we created the progressive web application, the architecture and some more nice technical details in a further article. Being able to see the app being used by the staff and the attendees was an awesome experience that really reminds us why we are doing this job! #ILoveMyJob
