Mar 9, 2011 − Once upon a time, there was Bobby the little developer. Bobby started writing flat PHP as a teenager.

How it all started

Once upon a time, there was Bobby the little developer.

Bobby started writing flat PHP as a teenager. A buddy of him told him: "Hey, Bobby, try that. You'll love it."
At this time, he did not think about his future. No. He just tried it. Thinking about being cool and all.

Then he became an addict. He started to use his parents' money to get high
quality screens and expensive PCs. But he was still using flat PHP.

A few years later, nothing had changed. Sure, Bobby did get a job to pay for his addiction. He was working at "Hello World Inc.". In this small company he was responsible for maintaining a Hello World application in flat PHP he started as an intern.

Then one day, he started looking for help. And heard about a new program called Symfony which could help him quit Flat PHP.

So he tried it alone. He started reading some docs on symfony.com (Ryan, you're the man). But that wasn't for him. Reading all this stuff to get started wouldn't work on him.

What now?

We believe that screencasts tutorials are the best way to help Bobby:

  • You see the screen of a developer
  • It's really a good way to follow a project from A to Z
  • You can pause whenever you want − to code together with the trainer
  • It's much more entertaining than a written doc

If you're like Bobby, we're very excited to announce that you can now watch our Symfony2 Tutorial Screencast on our brand new KnpUniversity platform!

We'll release more and more tutorials to help beginners as well as experimented developers master different aspects of PHP/Symfony in the coming months… so follow us on Twitter to get all the news!
